[Paraarticular ossifications of total endoprostheses of the hip joint part I: etiology and prevention.].

The author discusses the problem of development of paraarticular ossifications following implantation of total endoprostheses of the hip joint. The etiology of these ossifications is obscure and obviously multifactorial. Based on empirical findings the authors defined risk groups of patients and factors which induce ossifications. Concurrently a list of preventive provisions is submitted and treatment of this possible complication, when implanting total endoprostheses of the hip joints.
