This part of the paper is based on the theoretical background and principles of conservative and surgical treatment described in part I. The authors describe the principle of operation and give a detailed account of it, supplemented by diagrams. In the discussion the authors mention views regarding the type and scope of surgery with regard to the assumed increased pressure exerted on the head of the femur, and also changes of the ratio of forces in the femur are discussed.
