[Ultrasonography of rotator cuff of shoulder joint - examination technique, physiological and pathological findings.].

The author presents basic information on ultrasonographic examination of the shoulder joint. She mentions the beginnings of the development of ultrasonography of the shoulder, puts emphasis on the technique of this examination and describes the procedure of the examination of the rotator cuff of the shoulder joint. In the conclusion she highlights the importance of this method as a dynamic procedure allowing to monitor the development of changes in the region of the rotator cuff and determine in time the appropriate method of treatment. On the group of 27 patients she evaluates 99% sensitivity, 100% specificity and 93% accuracy of this examination.
